Visit to Ashram 2010

A small group visited Jujersa Yogashram during February, 2010. It was a wonderful visit. We met others from USA who were also staying at ashram. During this visit we had plenty of time to ask questions and receive guidance from Swami Sadhanananda Giri.  He constantly encouraged questions. Frequently when a person had a question or a thought in mind and did not give voice to it, the question or thought was answered or affirmed during Gurudev’s discussion with us. This was a frequent occurance during our discussions with Guruji.

We met many visitors to the ashram who shared their experiences of being a kriyaban (one who practices kriyayoga). This was all very supportive and the experience was of one family! Guruji is there constantly guiding and supporting this transformation within each person.

We had the oportunity to experience the celebration of Shiva Ratri. Disciples came to ashram and spent the entire night chanting the Bhagavad Gita and Sanskrit prayers. There was constant Puja and prayer throughout the evening and night. Each person present had the oportunity to offer Puja on four occasions during this celebration of Shiva Ratri. This concluded with chanting  prayers about 7.00am. What a blessed experience!

Some also had the oportunity to experience the celebration of Holi. (festival of colours). We had the oportunity to see the tradition operating within our ashram. At first we put colour on Guruji’s feet, then His forehead, then on our forehead. This was such a blessed experience! The explaination that we were given was that we were letting go of any animosity that we held towards anyone in our lifetime. We were leaving them all at Guruji’s feet. Disciples came in the evening and there was a constant flow of people putting colour on Guruji’s feet. He just sat there and smiled. He blessed each person, man, woman and child. There was plenty of time with a lot of enjoyment and happiness shared by all. Guruji told a story about the significance of Holi and how we are to overcome out ego.

There is a tradition in the ashram that everyone who comes to visit is  offered  food and drink.  This is always flowing in abundance. The visitor is always respected and welcomed.
