2013 visit to Ashram
Three groups from Ireland visited with Gurudeva this year. The visits started on December 28th and the last group departed from Ashram on January 31st. It was a wonderful time. There were Initiations held in the Mandir. There was lots of time given for us to ask questions and be with Gurudeva. One of our gurubrothers Dr.Kalyan Bhattacharyea kindly gave his time to help with translations. Gurudeva encouraged us to ask all of our questions and to leave with our minds free.
The days were beautiful with warm sunshine but the night time was very very cold. “Tanda” We were wrapped up in many shawls and scarves just like our Bengali brothers and sisters. Some said that it was the coldest winter in a very long time, maybe even 20 years. There was a lot of laughter and sharing, tears and letting go but overall a sense of peace and connectedness was felt. Each day we had a rota to help preparing food in the kitchen, sitting on the floor and chatting. The open fires of the clay oven kept us warm and the wafting of the spices filled our noses. As with tradition, all food is freshly prepared and vegetarian with a number of the vegetables from Ashram garden.
Each Saturday and Sunday lots of visitors came to see Gurudeva and we had the oportunity to meet with them and have Satsang together. Sharing our thoughts and feelings. Love and compassion with dignity and respect is pulsing in the Ashram.
Joy Gurudeva!
